Christopher Sommer

      Georgia Tech

      Biography

Christopher Sommer is currently a PhD student in the Nuclear Engineering program at Georgia Tech. He has a strong interest in the nuclear fuel cycle and working towards closing the fuel cycle. He received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Georgia Tech in nuclear engineering. While working on his bachelor’s degree, he co-authored a paper on a gas cooled subcritical fast reactor driven by a fusion neutron source for transmutation of spent nuclear fuel. He then continued the work in subcritical transmutation for his master’s thesis, and is currently working on fusion driven transmutation for his PhD dissertation.
