Steven began his study of science and technology long before grade school with weekly trips to his local library. In middle school he joined the Civil Air Patrol USAF AUX and accelerated in the program going on to earning the Spaatz award in 2007, the organization’s highest commendation for cadets in leadership and aerospace excellence. Working full-time at Delta Air Lines to support his family and his academic studies he enrolled at the University of West Georgia to study physics under the RETP Dual Degree program. Here developed strong a interest in plasma and quantum physics. In 2012 he transferred to Georgia Tech to continue his education with undergraduate studies in mechanical engineering. His desire to research plasma manipulation lead him to volunteer his time at Georgia Tech’s Fusion Research Center.
Plasma research interests include basic plasma and accelerator physics, MHD instabilities, and plasma propulsion. Other fields of interest include particle physics and quantum mechanical engineering.
